By July, 2009, more than half of California’s insurers filed for new rates, many with rate increases in the double-digits:

State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF) – 15% increase
Travelers Group – 13% increase
CareWest Insurance Company – 12.9% increase
Zurich American Insurance Company – 10% increase
