Attributes of a Successful Employee and a Great Co-Worker

Having the necessary characteristics to help achieve success within your position are very important if you want to be a great coworker.  At CPEhr we strive for both.  We want to provide exceptional customer service to our clients, we want our employees to achieve and exceed their goals and we want to embody a close, almost family like, work environment.  Below we have described some of the qualities that we think is important for anyone who works within any industry and is a part of any team to be successful.

Team Player

The different qualities of being a team player are being respectful, ethical, self-motivated, adaptable, decisive, an effective learner and a great communicator.

When working with a team, you know you are an exceptional communicator when you strive to communicate and pay attention to the communicators around you.  Most important, you hear what isn’t being said. When communication is present, trust and respect follow.

Initiative

When you take the initiative to get the job done you become a huge asset to you team and company. To take the initiative means you have the determination to work harder than most and make sure things get done. You pride yourself on seeing things getting completed and you take charge when necessary. You drive yourself with purpose and align yourself with excellence.

Positivity

Being positive is one of the most important attributes you can cultivate.  Positivity is a strategy for making a better future–unless you believe that the future can be better, you’re unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so.  If you are positive and honest, then you are applying practices that are best for everything you do.  With honesty comes integrity and integrity creates character and defines who you are.
